ABSTRACT
In this study, the defining of demographic properties as age and gender, the
definition of types and rate of events, and the show to profiling of cases around of Isparta for medico-legal cases applied
to Suleyman Demirel University, Medical School-Department of Forensic Medicine was aimed.
The medico-legal reports which corrected between June 01, 2002 and May 31, 2005
were retrospectively reviewed. The cases were classified according to ages, genders, types of events, attorneys and application
dates.
There were 559 (%68.3) male 259 (%31.7) female among those cases (n=818). The
mean of cases was 29.17 (±17.15) (range 50 days and 90 years old). In the classification
of cases according to age groups, 519 (%63.4) of cases was found in 11-40 age groups. The most of medico legal reports (62.1%)
was wanted by attorneys. The most of applications (n=296; %36.2) were in spring mouths (March, April; May). The most of injuring
(n=388; 47.43%) was due to traffic accidents.
When investigated the disturbance and specializations of events occurred in
our department surrounding, it is seemed that, the traffic accidents are major cause of injuring in our region. The traffic
accidents have be a difficult problem at last years in all country because of increasing of vehicles. This problem may be
solve with educational programs and legal arrangements.
