ABSTRACT

After gunshot wounds, retained bullets can be detected by radiological methods, and it's possible to define the type of gun or bullet. If the bullets are close by vital organs and vessels, they cannot be removed. The features of the bullets can be only determined again by radiological methods during these situations.

In our study, we introduced 71 years old male patient who had a gunshot wound in 1958. Incidentally, the amorphous metallic foreign body has been seen in radiological examination. This foreign body was situated at 11th torakal vertebral corpus. This was the left bullet with some changing's in its shape since 1958.

This is the interesting case that the bullet's shape has been changed by time. It is the first case report in Turkish literature with this aspect.
