ABSTRACT
The kidneys rarely subject to trauma because of localization, however; recently
the incidence of kidney trauma has been increased due to traffic accident and medico legal cases.
Appearance of hematuria in blunt kidney trauma is not associated with severity
of bleeding or trauma. Hematuria doesn't appear in most of blunt kidney injuries like kidney pedicule requires emergency.
Also hematuria occurs with extrarenal organ pathologies like acute appendicitis. Degree of hematuria can't define severity
of the trauma on the kidney or urinary tract.
In cases with blunt kidney trauma reporting medico legal reports due to severity
of hematuria can cause misconstruction. In this kind of cases severity of kidney injury due to trauma should be evaluated
with radiological methods.
Key Words: Hematuria, blunt kidney trauma.
