Abstract
Industrial
accidents are accidents occurred during occupational actions and cause to injuring and deaths. Injuring due to industrial
accidents may occur from carelessness, improvidences and deficiency of necessary prevents.
Aims
of this study are the definition of demographic features of industrial accidents.
Thus medical records of industrial accidents cases applied to Emergency Service of Celal Bayar University Hospital at 2006
were retrospectively reviewed. Cases was evaluated according to ages, genders, event dates, injured body regions and clinics.
Of
132 cases injured due to industrial accidents, 125 (94.70 %) were male and 7 (5.30 %) female. Ages of cases were
between 14 and 59 years. The medium of ages was found as 32.63 (± 10.8) years. The most of cases (36.36 %, n=48)
was in 21-30 age group. Application of cases was tkicken in summary mouths (35.61
%), n=47). In 50.75 % (n=67) of cases, there were abrasions, ecchymosis, hemotomas and lacer4ations. 83 cases (62.88 %) were
treated in Emergency Service, 47 cases (35.61 %) were hospitalized to clinics, 2 cases (1.51 %) were consulted to another
hospitals.
We think that applying of preventive measurements can diminish the industrial accidents due to carelessness, improvidences
and ignorance.
