ABSTRACT
As a result of gunshot traumas to the head region, usually cranial pieced fracture, bleeding and
severe brain damage occur. Due to transition of bullet from the scalp, it is rare to encounter damage inside the cranium without
any fractures in it.
In this study a 20 year-old male is presented,
in whom acute subdural and intracerebral haemotoma developed without any fractures in the cranium as a result of tangential
transition of a low-energy bullet, which entered the scalp from left temporal region to mastoid region.
Although the low caliber bullet did not cause any
fracture in the cranium, the case is presented both be-cause of brain damage it caused and the fact that there is not a similar
case encountered in Turkish literature.
