ABSTRACT
The “marital rape” term have been used in international
terminology for definition to sexual acts which perpetrated by woman’s husband or ex-husband without the consent of
woman. Although the marital rape was rejected for years, today, in most of developed and developing countries, the “marriage”
concept changed, the traditional belief which accept to the women as a property of their husbands’ was broken, the opinion
which include the sexual relations might been with consent of both spouses otherwise these sexual relations could be a rape
was accepted, and legislations as parallel to this opinion came into force.
The marital rape can been seen in all marriage unless to take
into account to age, social statue, race, religious and ethnicity, and it have threat to family system on the basis of society
due to its serious psychological and physical harassments on the women.
In this article, we aimed that to review to the brief history,
the law sanctions and the prevalence of marital rapes, the effective factors in marital rape events, the results and effects
of marital rapes on the victims, and to discuss to necessary precautions for prevent from marital rapes.
