FRACTURE DUE TO INTERNAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT / A CASE REPORT STUDY

ABSTRACT
Fractures of thyroid cartilage usually occur by hanging, strangulation, and
manual strangulation, direct blunt traumas to the neck region, gunshot or knife wounds. The man, who 68 years old, was affected
himself thorax to steering wheel and injured by the accident time. There was no external traumatic lesion. However, fracture
of thyroid cartilage was occurred by hyperextension of the neck.
This case is presented with its radiological findings because of interesting
that it is rare for occurrence mechanism and is not confronted with similar living case in the forensic medical application
in Turkey.
