ABSTRACT
As there is a significant increase in sexual assault and physical violence cases,
it has great importance to collect evidence to define the action. In this study, a colorimetric method for quantitative determination
of amylase from saliva retains becoming as a result of bites, love kisses or forced oral penetration is presented. The analysis
was performed on lesions of bite and love kiss on skin in varying periods ranging 1 to 72 hours. The method revealed that
amylase can be quantitatively detected up to 72 nd hour after contamination. As a result, it is concluded that, colorimetric
detection of amylase is a cheap and reliable method which can be used in defining the lesions and also the action in sexual
assault and physical violence cases.
Key words: Amylase, saliva retains, colorimetric method, sexual assault.
