ABSTRACT
The most important evidences are autopsy findings and autopsy reports for a
medico-legal death investigation. According to the Codes of Practice of Turkish Penal Code, two or only one practitioner in
the presence of a Judge or Public Prosecutor performs the autopsy.
One other person who participates in autopsy procedures is personnel entitled
autopsy technician or assistant of autopsy.
In this paper, we aimed to reveal the positions of the autopsy technicians and
discussed what can be done regarding the training of autopsy technicians and describing their legal state.
