TO CHILD ABUSE OR WOMEN ABUSE VICTIMS APPLIED TO EMERGENCY SERVICES

ABSTRACT
Violence against women and children is still accepted as an important public health problem.
There is tendency to hide the abuse because the victims a usually cowed, feeling shame and seeing the matter as a domestic
problem. Therefore, abuse is usually revealed fortuitously. This secret may only be revealed with the notice of an abnormal
behavior by a person or application to the medical doctor as a result of a physical trauma.
Not acting with adequate care for elucidating the secret, can not grasp the dimensions
of the problem, inadequate knowledge for diagnosing the abuse, not to desire to be involved in domestic problems, reluctance
in diagnosing and reporting the cases, inadequate in knowledge application or insufficiency of the forensic procedure, the
lack of documentation of events by health professionals may escape of most of the abuse cases from notice, exposure of victims
to recurrent violence, sometimes may cause the results arriving to death.
The aim of this article was to strengthen the knowledge of medical doctors who had leading
role about the child and women abuse, informed them in the roles and responsibilities they had to play in the prevention of
the violence against child and women.
