EVALUATION OF DEATHS DUE TO RUPTURES OF DISSECTING AORTA

ABSTRACT
18 cases of ruptures of dissecting aortic aneurysm were evaluated retrospectively whose autopsies were carried out
in Council of Forensic Medicine of Turkey within five years between 1990 1994. %
72,2 of the cases is male and with respect to age % 18,87 is in 61 and above age group % 16,7 is in 51-60 and is in 21-10
% 77,8 of the cases had a localization of the proximal aorta and cardiac tamponade. The amount of blood accumulating in pericardial
cavity and causing death is about 400-300 mg in % 64,1 of the cases. The rupture is 1.1-3.0 cm in size in % 49,9 of the cases.
Macroscopic and histo-pathologic findings determined in the cases were also evaluated.
