ABSTRACT
Although the intoxications caused by the barium compounds are not frequently
seen, the clinical , radiological and the forensic toxicologist need to consider these compounds for they have lethal effects
when they happen.
In this study it is aimed to look over the literature regarding the chemical
properties of the barium compounds, their area of use, pharmacological properties, their toxic findings and the treatment
ways to be used in barium intoxications and the descriptions of the autopsy findings caused by the barium compounds.
