ABSTRACT
In this study, the defining to profiles of medico-legal cases which occurred
Manisa and periphery was aimed and the medico-legal reports which arranged by Forensic Medicine Polyclinic of Medical Faculty
of Celal Bayar University about 723 persons in the period between January 01, 2003 and June 31, 2006 were retrospectively
examined. Those cases were evaluated according to types of cases, ages, gender, application dates to polyclinic, judicial
offices and decisions.
There were 558 (% 77.2) men and 165 (% 22.8) women among cases. The most of
cases was in the 21-30 age groups. In the evaluation of 2003-2004 and 2005 years after except of 118 cases applied in first
six months of 2006, the most of application (n=185; % 30.6) was in summer months, especially in July (n=74; %12.3). The mostly
of cases applied due to assaults (% 42.4; n=307) and traffic accidents (% 38.4; n=278).
The defining of regional profiles for medico-legal cases may supply the main
data for preventing of medico-legal events and this data may use for law corrections and educational efforts.
