ABSTRACT
Aim: Incidental carcinoma of prostate is a condition that it shows parallelism
to increasing of ages. In our country, the broad series which show to true number of the incidence of prostatic incidental
carcinoma was not reported yet. In this study, we investigated the rate of incidental carcinoma and incidence of atypical
changing defined in epithelial component of gland.
Material and Method: In this study, 465 TUR and 140 angle prostatectomy materials
belong to cases have between 46 and 83 ages (mean: 63 ages) which sent to our department between 1986 and 1994 years by clinical
diagnosis as benign prostate hyperplasia, and total prostate material of 300 autopsy cases were evaluated. Those materials
were fixed by alcohol and paraffin bloc sections of them were examined after colored with H.E.
Results and Conclusion: In this
study, the incidences of atypical epithelial hyperplasia and incidental carcinoma were found as high rates. We emphasized
that the more number of sections must be obtained for true pathological diagnosis.
Key words: prostate, incidental
carcinoma, prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia.
