BRUISES DUE TO THORAX TRAUMAS: SPECIAL INVESTIGATION ABOUT INTRAPULMONAR BLEEDINGS

ABSTRACT
In this study, 732 hemothorax, 496 pneumothorax, 766 hemopneumothorax, 45 lung
hametoma (traumatic pneumonia) 76 subdermal emphysema and total 2115 cases were defined during evaluation of 4025 thoracic
trauma cases defined legal folders which sent to Council of Forensic Medicine for medico-legal evaluation during 3 years periods
between 1991 and 1993.
The origins were defined that 564 stabbing and 116 firearm injuring and 52 blunt
trauma for hemothorax cases, 396 stabbing, 26 firearm injuring and 74 blunt trauma for pneumothorax cases, 611 stabbing and
70 firearm injuring and 85 blunt trauma for hemopneumothorax cases, 23 stabbing and 16 firearm injuring and 6 blunt trauma
for lung hametoma (traumatic pneumonia) cases, 56 stabbing and 2 firearm injuring and 18 blunt trauma for sub dermal emphysema
cases.
Additionally, general subjects about bleeding in lung and the defined data were
examined in this study.
