ABSTRACT
In this study, 39913 autopsy reports which were corrected in Mortuary Section
of Forensic Medicine Institute between 1976 and 1995 years were evaluated and death certifications due to bombing were selected
among them.
There were 97 (%0.3) cases due to bombings. The most of them (n=36, 37.11%)
ocurred between 1978 and 1980. There were 82 (%84.53) man and 15 (%15.46) woman
among 97 total cases.
The most of deaths 47 (%48.45) occurred in 21-30 age group. Only one person had dead in 45 events and the more than one people had dead in 18 events. The most death
number occurred single event was 7.
75 (%77.31) person had dead in scene and 22 (%22.68person had dead in hospital.
In this study, the features of traumatic lesions occurred bombing, causes of
deaths, the material used for definition of bomb types, the lesions used for definition of events, and especially personality
identification problems for mass deaths and the importance scene investigation were evaluated and important points were emphasized.
