ABSTRACT
Sexual crimes are one of essential problems. We aimed the definition of affectivity
of medical report on this subject. Thus, we retrospectively examined cases which had been evaluated at 2nd Specialization
Board of Forensic Medicine Institute for anal or vaginal rape, attempt to rape or molestation during periods include 4 years
and 8 mouths between 1991 January and 1994 August. In this examination, cases
were handled according to type of crime, distribution of ages, the period between event date and examination date, accordance
rate of medico-legal reports between local health centers and 2nd Specialization Board of Forensic Medicine Institute and
regional distribution.
In our study, it defined that, the most of victims of sexual crimes was children
(0-18 years old). The rate of child victims was 92.3% for anal rape and 78.3% for vaginal rape. Percent 56.5 of the suspects
of anal rape was in 13-18 age groups and 39.3% of suspects were adult. Age difference between assailants of anal rape and
victim was 10 and above years for 38.2% and 7-10 years for 24.4%. The first medical examination following to event was applied
in the day of event or following day for 70.2% of cases. The rate of female/male was ¼ for anal rape victimization and approximately
equal for all sexual crimes. There was not accordance between the decides of 2nd Specialization Board of Forensic Medicine
Institute and the decides of local health centers for 60% in anal rape
cases and for 59% in vaginal rape cases.
In this study, it is emphasized that, the medical examination of sexual assault
victims needs multi-discipliner approach and medico-legal reports must be prepared with very much careful.
