ABSTRACT
In Mortuary Section of Forensic Medicine Council, 15165 autopsies were performed
between January-1986 and first eight mounts of 1994. in 627 cases, it was decided that, deaths were Caused by hanging and
complications.
In 618 of 627 cases, deaths were caused at the moment of hanging or in a short
time after hanging; and in other 9 cases, deaths were occurred from complications, which developed in periods between 2nd
and 3rd days.
In our study, these nine cases were analyzed and detailed according to dispersion
of age and sexuality, severe degrees of lesion on the neck, the life terms after hanging and developed complications.
