ANALYSIS OF DEATHS
OCCURRED IN PUBERTY, EARLY ADOLESCENT AND LATE ADOLESCENT PERIODS

ABSTRACT
The periods of puberty and adolescent with many contradictions are the most
important terms in human life between childhood and adulthood. In this study, the young people in the age at 11 and 20 are
divided into three main categories according to Simon's and Oztürk's classifications and are called puberty between 11 and
14, early adolescent between 15 and 17, and late adolescent 18 and 20. In the mortuary section of Forensic Medicine Council,
9183 autopsies were performed in the years of 1989-1993; % l,99 (188 cases) of these was in puberty, % 3,6 (331 cases) of
these was in early adolescent, % 5,91 (543 cases) of these was in late adolescent. All these cases are classified according
to the years of death. age, sexuality, the causes of death, the origins in violent deaths and the use of alcohol, drug, and
other toxic agents, and all findings were compared with literature findings.
